City of Austin, Community Youth Development VISTA

Austin Public Health's mission is to work in partnership with the community to promote health, safety, and well-being. The Community Youth Development (CYD) program provides a Community Collaborative Committee (CCC) to the 78744 ZIP code. The goal of the CCC is to partner youth and adults together to put on projects based on the needs of the community. The VISTA’s role will be to create and implement a strategic plan to recruit more youth and adults members, create a sustainability plan to have the community take over the CCC, and facilitate 4 quarterly meetings.

Member Duties : Create and implement a strategic plan to recruit more youth and adults members to join the Community Collaborative Committee. Create a sustainability plan to have the community take over the Community Collaborative Committee. Create four (4) quarterly CCC meetings that focus on project planning and Youth/Adult Partnership building in the 78744 ZIP code. Work with the Youth Advisory Committee coordinator to facilitate these Youth/Adult Partnerships. Conduct two special projects in March and May, to be decided by the Community Strengths and Needs Assessment.
