| Member Duties : The East Harlem Teaching Residency is a 14-month program that provides residents with a comprehensive training experience that prepares them to become highly effective 1st-6th grade teachers. Residents will be placed with a master teacher and lead their own academic afterschool classroom while attending graduate school to obtain their Masters in Education and initial teaching certification.
