The Mercy Corps NW VISTA Team (MCNW VT) is a team of 12 AmeriCorps VISTAs managed by Mercy Corps NW and stationed at nonprofit organizations and public agencies across the state. The VISTA Leader ensures that the VISTAs serving throughout Oregon have the support, resources, and training needed to ensure a successful experience and positive outcomes. As an agency, Mercy Corps NW works to increase economic self-sufficiency and financial inclusion through microenterprise development for aspiring business owners & entrepreneurs, education and skills training for incarcerated women, and capacity building services through the AmeriCorps VISTA program. Our mission runs parallel to the mission of our parent organization, Mercy Corps: To alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities.

Member Duties : Based at Mercy Corps Northwest in Portland, OR, the VISTA Leader supports the Mercy Corps NW VISTA Team by coordinating member trainings, mentoring members, coordinating/conducting site visits, collecting reports & managing data, and supporting outreach efforts/sharing program impact. The leader will help recruit new VISTA sites & members. Desired qualifications: conflict resolution skills, organizational ability, experience with Excel & Google Drive, and superlative writing & speaking skills. Applicants must be comfortable with complex rules/regulations. Experience with one of the following nonprofit fields desired: housing & homelessness, financial literacy/asset development, or community development. NOTE: This position requires a completed term of service with VISTA, AmeriCorps, NCCC, or Peace Corps by November 2018. No exceptions possible. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis. Apply early
