| Member Duties : Work with South Dakota Specialty Producers Association (SDSPA), a state recognized non-profit corporation, to increase outreach, program delivery and education to build the local foods system across South Dakota. Activities: Local foods system needs assessment & action planning; Participate in statewide SD Local Foods Coalition and SD Local Foods Conference planning committee; Identify outside funding sources to support work in food desert areas to increase availability of locally grown foods; Develop materials for new educational activities, marketing & promotion; Develop, deliver & compile surveys of issues & concerns identified by the farmers market managers, vendors, communities, resource providers; Develop contact list & market information; Prep info for public education; Assist SDSPA to develop, deliver, compile & analyze Annual Producer Surveys as well as in-depth crops & producer statewide inventory; Identify outside funding sources.
