The NHDOE is committed to helping students, parents, and educators (including teachers, principals, superintendents, and school communities) meet the educational needs of each student, regardless of their personal situation.

Member Duties : Build statewide capacity by identifying available resources and human capital to better support New Hampshire’s most at-risk populations: including migrant and homeless students. Address the needs of these economically disadvantaged students through a variety of projects and collaborations, including the national migrant consortium for out-of-school youth and national on-line reading consortium. Serve as a contact for school districts and community partners across the state that are seeking information on ways to serve migrant youth in their area. This position will involve many tasks including, but not limited to, writing/editing, public speaking, organizational skills, and use of technology. VISTAs will work at the New Hampshire Department of Education for the majority of their work days, as well as partaking in meetings and trainings across the state for varying organizations, piloting testing techniques and developing educational resources for the migrant tutoring program.
