The Mayor’s Office for Economic Opportunity (NYC Opportunity) uses evidence and innovation to reduce poverty and increase equity. We advance research, data and design in the City’s program and policy development, service delivery, and budget decisions. Our work includes analyzing existing anti-poverty approaches, developing new interventions, facilitating the sharing of data across City agencies, and rigorously assessing the impact of key initiatives.

Member Duties : Conduct literature reviews, analyze research and reports, interview city agency and service provide staff to identify best practices and inform new program development. Create and implement work plans and liaise with city agencies and service providers to support the design and implementation of new anti-poverty programs for vulnerable populations. Support the design and implementation of evaluation strategies for execution by external research partners to assess the effectiveness and impact of NYC Opportunity and YMI programs. Develop a plan for enhancing NYC Opportunity’s existing knowledge management systems and protocols, and for supporting NYC Opportunity program leads to implement new performance measurement strategies. Develop a plan to create new capacity building workshops or materials for city agency staff around NYC Opportunities core capacities.
