E3.18 Life House Futures Program Capacity Coordinator VISTA

Life House serves youth between the ages of 14 -24 who are experiencing high barriers to their success. We provide case management in housing, wellness, education and employment while operating a drop-in youth center that provides meals, recreational activities, positive adult staff interactions, and basic needs. Life House’s Futures Program Capacity Coordinator Vista will be responsible for the expansion and sustainability of Life House’s Futures Program, which offers academic support, individualized job placement, and paid job training through its three tracks: Futures Education, Futures Employment, and the Legitimate Hustle Program. The VISTA will have the unique opportunity to help the Futures Team market the Limitless Candle Company, Life House’s youth led social enterprise, to the Twin Ports community and beyond with our E-commerce site (www.LifehouseLHP.org). Limitless Candle Company is a product of the Legitimate Hustle Program, which offers paid work experience to a cohort of ten youth who are responsible for creating a business from conception to production. Also, the VISTA will have the opportunity of building capacity in other areas of the Futures Program including building relationships with area colleges to create an on-needed tutoring program, connecting with local employers to bolster employment retention of youth experiencing barriers to their employment, and other capacity building activities as assigned. As an Ecolibrium3 Resilience Corps member, you will join 15 others working throughout Northeastern Minnesota to reduce poverty and improve health and wellness experienced by our community members. Although each cohort member will have their own project and placement, the Ecolibruim3 Resilience Corps members will jointly implement one joint project during their service year. Position will be filled as soon as a qualified candidate is selected.
