Red Cross Northwest Region, Service to Armed Forces
 
 
 
Applications will be reviewed in the order in which they are received with interviews taking place until placement is filled. Positions are available in Everett and Spokane. Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) Program is a key line of service within the American Red Cross, providing vital support and services to active duty service members, veterans, and their families. It’s mission statement is: “Red Cross For Life. The American Red Cross helps members of the military, veterans and their families prepare for, cope with and respond to the challenges of the military service worldwide-for life. Our Hero Care Network provides connection to emergency communication and critical community services; care and comfort in military and veteran health care facilities and family resiliency training.” Positions will deliver programs and services including informational briefings, resource fairs, support for military family events, and scheduling resiliency workshops for targeted audiences including active-duty armed forces service members, their families, and veterans. They will serve closely with the volunteer coordinator to recruit and manage SAF volunteers. AmeriCorps members will be paired with a Red Cross SAF employee to assist them in the conduct of their programs and outreach activities in their territory. Member Duties : The Service to Armed Forces (SAF) Program Facilitator will deliver services, programs, and educational presentations to audiences within our Washington military community to better prepare service members and their families during times of emergencies and deployments. Programs include informational briefings, resource fairs, support for military family events, scheduling resiliency training courses, and Hero Care Network casework. The Service to Armed Forces Program Facilitator will also be involved with recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, supervising, and recognizing volunteers as they provide SAF programs and services to military families. Positions contingent on funding.
