Detroit College Access Network - Pathways to Employment

Detroit’s economy is rapidly evolving, but the children of Detroit aren’t provided the resources to benefit from this growth. The Detroit College Access Network (DCAN) is trying to change that by supporting each student’s pursuit of education—one of the most impactful ways to allow for social and economic mobility. As our VISTA with Detroit College Access Network, you’ll develop and expand programming that encourages youth in Detroit to go to college and teaches them how to leverage the resources they need to get there. In addition, you’ll work within the community, with parents and counselors, to create a supportive college-going culture. In doing so, you’ll be helping Detroit’s youth achieve their educational and occupational goals and secure a place for themselves in Detroit’s growing economy.
