Mineral County Court Appointed Special Advocates
 
 
 
The primary function of this CASA program is to provide specifically trained volunteers who will conduct thorough and exhaustive information collection of each child abuse and/or neglect case brought before the courts, and provide advocacy services to ensure that the needs of the child are met and the necessary services are available to them. Increasing the financial resources, recruitment of volunteers, research, develop and provide schools with preventative curriculum and programs and develop community partnerships. A VISTA will allow Mineral County CASA to strengthen its ability to recruit and train additional advocates, offer the community preventative curriculum and programs to decrease the number of children being abused and neglected, develop a resource database specific to families that advocates encounter including parenting classes, budgeting, healthy eating options for those on financial assistance, etc.AmeriCorps*VISTA to serve. Member Duties : Join are team and be a part of making a brighter future for area children. Members will recruit volunteers, build partnerships, raise awareness, develop databases, research funding streams and write at least 2 funding proposals. All in an effort to build capacity in the organization served, allowing them to reach out to more children in need.
