Member Duties : The VISTA will work in collaboration with Southwest Conservation Corps to educate local Native stakeholders, non-profit organizations, and local, state, and federal agencies of the opportunities the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge (VADE) can bring to the surrounding Native communities. The VISTA will create new and strengthen current partnerships within native communities and other community groups in the South Valley. The VISTA will engage in a variety of service tasks, including community engagement, needs assessments and surveying, presentations to appropriate area leaders and work to grow interest in area Native youth and young adults. VISTA will help plan and implement a Youth Play, Learn, Serve event at VADE and take part in regional and national training and conferences.
