NYIC VISTA @ Libertas Center for Human Rights

This position is part of the NYIC VISTA program, which is run by the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) and places AmeriCorps VISTAs – referred to as NYIC VISTAs – at nonprofit organizations where they build organizational capacity through community outreach/education, communications, fundraising, program development and/or volunteer management projects. The capacity that they build is then used by their host organizations to advance their work on providing community members with anti-poverty services (e.g., legal, health, employment/career). NYIC VISTAs are supported by the NYIC with a 4-day training towards the beginning of their year of service, a 2-day mid-year training, monthly webinars, monthly check-ins with NYIC staff, and ongoing networking opportunities with other VISTAs. During their year of service, NYIC VISTAs are supported with benefits including but not limited to living allowance, healthcare allowance, a year-end education award or cash stipend, and more. To learn more about standard VISTA benefits, please visit https://www.vistacampus.gov/in-service/benefits-service. NYIC VISTA positions are full-time 12-month positions that are scheduled to begin on either August 30 or September 4, 2018. The NYIC, www.nyic.org, aims to unite immigrants, members (i.e., NYIC Member organizations) and allies so all New Yorkers can thrive. The NYIC envisions a New York State that is stronger because all people are welcome, treated fairly, and given the chance to pursue their dreams.
