Children's Village Staff Development Coordinator

Children’s Village is a residential home for children, birth to 18, who have been abused, neglected or are in a severe family crisis. Children come into care through a placement by Health and Welfare, police sheltering or are privately placed by their parents. Private placements are typically the result of a severe family crisis, such as homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse and/or a mental health crisis. Care can be short term, with a minimum of 24-hours, or long-term, dependent upon the stability and safety of the family’s home. The Children's Village facility is located in Coeur d'Alene, population 50,000, a city known for year-round access to outdoor recreation, and a vibrant arts and cultural scene.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will identify program needs and design program components for the development of an employee wellness program. The VISTA will review the current Emergency Preparedness program and make recommendations for modifications to the program. The VISTA will engage community partners and develop staff training to improve the Emergency Preparedness Plan. The VISTA will develop an Advanced Volunteer program that includes volunteer job descriptions and training procedures. To accomplish these objectives, the VISTA will collaborate closely with the Human Resource Specialist and the Volunteer Coordinator of the Children's Village.
