FPP Recruitment and Education VISTA
 
 
 
Family Promise of the Palouse (FPP) provides homeless children and their parents shelter for up to 90 days. While a family is in shelter they are offered services that help guide them to stability in long term housing. Services include; intense case management, financial literacy, parenting education and life skills education. Case-Management consists of a families’ current goals such as housing and employment these are broken down into manageable weekly activities. Family Promise of the Palouse provides shelter to homeless families in Moscow Idaho, Latah County and Pullman Washington, Whitman County also known as The Palouse. Currently on The Palouse there are 99 homeless school aged children.

Member Duties : The VISTA Volunteer Recruitment and Education Specialist will build capacity in our volunteer program. Items that would add support to the FPP program and that the VISTA would complete include mentoring programs, educational programs, community volunteers for our day center, college student volunteers, volunteer sign up, volunteer training and volunteer appreciation events. The VISTA will work to enhance and streamline the structured volunteer sign up and training process. Family Promise of the Palouse has a large array of potential college student volunteers as we are home of two Land Grant Universities. The VISTA will work to strengthen ties with this population, in addition to the general population.
