Y AmeriCorps Member

The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is currently recruiting part-time AmeriCorps members from March 1, 2023, through August 31, 2022. AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs, and members commit their time to address critical community needs like increasing academic achievement, mentoring youth, fighting poverty, and more. Our Y AmeriCorps program, which is based in Indianapolis, will aim to serve youth and communities through programs that will focus on one or more of the following areas for young people: leadership development, post-secondary advancement, workforce development, civic engagement, and mentoring. AmeriCorps members will assist the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis in developing, planning, and implementing programs through our Youth Empowerment model across the city of Indianapolis and providing community outreach programs in local areas. AmeriCorps members will also participate in personal and professional development opportunities throughout the year provided by the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. Our goal of this program is to create "changemakers" in the youth we serve, as well as give AmeriCorps members the opportunity for leadership growth and development during the course of their service. AmeriCorps members will receive a biweekly living stipend and are eligible for an education award at the end of their service that can go directly toward their education expenses.
