20-21 Snohomish Conservation District Environmental Educator

The Snohomish Conservation District's mission is to work cooperatively with others to promote and encourage conservation and responsible use of natural resources. We are a non-regulatory state entity, funded through grants, local assessment tax, and state funding. Our Sound Education program has been in existence for over 10 years and is funded in partnership with local cities with the goal of educating and inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards. We value teaching that is inquiry-based and provocative – encouraging students to be active, empowered critical thinkers. Our lessons include strong hands-on and interactive components to engage multiple learning styles. We are looking for an educator to join our team to bring fun and impactful education to students in classrooms across Snohomish County and Camano Island. Some service will also be via virtual learning. Applications should be submitted through the AmeriCorps website. Please also send a resume and cover letter addressing the reasons for your interest and what you would bring to the position to lcason@snohomishcd.org. Candidates of non-traditional educational or experiential backgrounds are encouraged to apply – please address applicability of education/experience in cover letter. More information can be found at www.snohomishcd.org
