Communications and Marketing Coordinator
The Communications and Marketing Coordinator participates in a year-long term of AmeriCorps service (1700 hours) supporting Harpeth Conservancy (HC), a science-based conservation organization whose mission is to restore and protect clean water and healthy ecosystems for rivers in Tennessee. The communities along the Harpeth River including Nashville, Franklin, and around middle Tennessee are among the fastest growing in the nation. The coordinator increases public awareness of HC's programs, fosters engagement through creative marketing campaigns with business and other partners, and develops and/or expands events. The coordinator serves as part of a 15-person cohort that receives skills training, professional development, and networking opportunities through a partnership between HC and Hands On Nashville, Middle Tennessee’s volunteer resource center. Harpeth Conservancy restores and protects clean water and healthy ecosystems. Our rivers, including the State Scenic Harpeth, are part of the unique river systems of the Southeast, which contain some of the greatest variety of aquatic life in the world. Harpeth Conservancy protects these vital resources by employing scientific expertise and collaborative relationships to develop, promote and support broad community stewardship and action. Harpeth Conservancy works with landowners, businesses, community, local, state, and federal decision makers, and others to foster solutions that reduce pollution and maintain healthy areas. HON’s AmeriCorps Program builds capacity for individuals and agencies to meet needs through volunteerism. Its AmeriCorps Program engages members in year-long terms of service both with HON and HON’s Community Partners. Hands On Nashville does not discriminate based on age, gender, skin color, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability or other factors which deny the essential humanity of all people.
