The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County (BGCUC) is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. BGCUC accomplishes its mission by providing a safe place for kids during after school and summer hours. BGCUC’s programs includes homework help, STEM learning, specialized clubs, enrichment activities, nutritional snacks, and physical education. These programs and services are designed to enhance the social, educational, character, and leadership development of BGCUC members. This VISTA project is designed to help BGCUC meet its mission more fully by serving more low-income children more effectively.

Member Duties : The Community Engagement Coordinator–In-Kind Donations will (1) increase unrestricted monetary resources that will allow BGCUC to serve more low-income youth, (2) create a store of in-kind donations to help Club members and their families meet basic needs, and (3) create long-term partnerships that can be utilized for further resource development once the VISTA project is completed. The Community Engagement Coordinator will implement projects and build capacity by developing a database to catalogue all donations and determine how donations will be used; identifying local businesses to partner with for ongoing in-kind donations; creating a calendar of funding opportunities offered by grants, foundations, corporate giving, etc.; piloting a back-to-school “store” and sub-for-santa; and developing sponsorships for fundraising events.
