(EJ Activists) Outreach Development Coordinator

Educational Justice, an award-winning nonprofit in Louisville, Kentucky, is creating a movement to tackle educational inequity by shaking up the high school honors society model. Educational Justice identifies and trains the best and brightest high schoolers to become dedicated academic coaches ("Activists") for underserved 5th-8th grade students ("Achievers"). After being paired through an innovative software solution, Activist-Achiever pairs meet for one-on-one tutoring sessions at public, pre-approved sites every week, for the entire school year, and stay paired for up to four years. The concept behind the program recently won a social entrepreneurship conference at Harvard University. Meet some of our students by visiting http://educationaljustice.org/students/.
