M:STL- Audubon Center Environmental Education Support VISTA

The Education Outreach VISTA member will build capacity by assessing existing and developing new environmental education materials for Audubon’s NEST (Nature Education for Stewards of Tomorrow) programs, serving students throughout the St. Louis metro region. As a result of the VISTA Member’s service, students in under-resourced schools will participate in hands-on STEM-focused conservation education, be exposed to and gain real work experience in the conservation field. These efforts will address poverty alleviation by building high quality, engaging STEM-focused conservation education curriculum for under-resourced schools, as well as career exposure and workforce experience. The VISTA member's efforts will address poverty alleviation by increasing our volunteer numbers so that we can continue to enhance low-income students’ STEM learning through conservation education, provide STEM career exposure, and create a healthier future for students and their communities. This VISTA member will also focus on helping our partners understand RiverVision’s impact to increase support and understanding.
