Stewards VISTA: Shenandoah NPT Communications Coordinator

The Shenandoah National Park Trust is the official nonprofit philanthropic partner of Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. The Trust raises funds to support an array of programs, including wildlife and wild land protection, historic preservation, scientific research and veteran engagement. Our VISTA member will work directly with our fundraising staff and Executive Director to develop a suite of communications pieces highlighting our programs, including our veterans programs for underserved communities. These communiques will be used to promote and raise funds for our programs, so that we can offer free programming to more veterans, conserve more acres of native habitat, advance scientific understanding of our 200,000 acres and ensure that Shenandoah remains a crown jewel of the national park system for generations to come. The suite of communications will consist of materials for donors as well as materials for the general public that we will disseminate for awareness raising. Additionally, our VISTA member will serve as liaison between the Trust and veterans organizations with whom we partner. In this capacity, s/he will identify opportunities to refine the veterans programs so that they best meet the veteran’s needs. S/he will also ensure that additional organizations that express interest in our programs are put in contact with the national park’s Veterans and Volunteer Coordinator.
