*FIT VISTA-NSKS Marketing/Community Engagement

Since 1981, Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter (NSKS) has provided meals, emergency food through our food pantry, emergency shelter and advocacy to poor and homeless men, women & families with children in our community. The overall objective of our agency is to advocate, create and operate programs and services that promote dignity and self-sufficiency for those we serve.

Member Duties : Our VISTA member will develop social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and more traditional media (TV, radio, newspapers, posters) messages that will be two-fold: 1) to educate the poor and homeless members in our community about our services because no one in Greater Nashua should be food insecure or lack a place to stay 2) and to inspire & create a dialogue with potential new volunteers & sponsors. Our volunteer program builds capacity by using our community members who give time & talents to our programs. Volunteers are the heart of our agency. Recruitment is a critical activity for volunteer involvement. Finding the right volunteers makes all the difference in the success and impact of our programs. Our VISTA member will work to increase our volunteer base. Work Schedule: Our work week is Monday – Friday, 9AM – 5PM, with occasional evening commitments. Our VISTA member will be required to assist with our two major, in-house fundraisers on 11/2/2019 & 4/5/2020.
