CIELO Community Outreach Coordinator VISTA - UWTC
 
 
 
For over 20 years, CIELO has been the area’s only nonprofit dedicated to serving Latinx high-need individuals and families through educational programs, mental health counseling, sexual assault/domestic violence programs, employment services and cultural celebrations. Our goal is to promote community, self-sufficiency and leadership of Latinx and other diverse populations in the South Puget Sound area. We are a vibrant intercultural center for the Latinx and wider community where all individuals are allies and resources for each other.

Member Duties : CIELO’s VISTA member will increase awareness of CIELO’s services among the low-income Latinx community & CIELO’s potential community partners. The end goal is to increase their awareness of & participation in CIELO services to help Latinx low-income individuals & families gain education & sustainable employment to overcome poverty. The project will also build CIELO’s capacity to conduct effective outreach strategies & materials along with designing the methodology for determining effectiveness of such strategies. The VISTA will work with staff & marketing consultants to design, implement & monitor a comprehensive communications plan targeted to vulnerable populations in the Latinx community, community partners, donors & the general community. The plan will include the use of online media (including social media), storytelling, the arts & other nontraditional communications methods. The work will serve as the basis for all future communications efforts of the agency.
