NCO Housing and Health Coordinator

North Coast Opportunities, Inc. (NCO) is the Community Action Agency that serves Lake and Mendocino Counties, as well as parts of Humboldt, Sonoma, Del Norte, and Solano Counties. NCO was established in 1968 as part of President Johnson's War on Poverty, with the mission of assisting low-income and disadvantaged people to become self-reliant. NCO provides a safety net of emergency assistance, employment, and training services for low-income individuals and families. The New Digs Rapid Rehousing Program is one of NCO's Community Wellness Projects and uses a “Housing First” strategy to assist homeless individuals and families in efforts to achieve housing stability. NCO is a member of the Lake County Continuum of Care for the homeless, a coordinating group that aligns resources to facilitate solutions to end homelessness in our communities. We seek to serve the homeless and those in danger of imminent homelessness throughout Lake County. Through intensive case management, we help our clients remove barriers to housing stability and provide access to community resources that are available to serve their unique needs. We work with local government organizations and community service providers to strengthen services available to vulnerable members of our communities. Hope Rising Lake County is a core partner to NCO with a mission to mobilize and inspire community partnerships and actions that support individual, collective and community health and wellness. Hope Rising serves as a neutral convener to bring leaders together in our county to identify issues, develop innovative solutions, implement collective initiatives, ensure accountability and deliver measurable outcomes.
