2018 Summer Dupage Habitat for Humanity Construction Crew

DuPage Habitat is in the midst of substantial growth and development. We are a midsized affiliate serving over 20 families per year and we have an aggressive growth plan that will continue to increase the number of families served throughout the foreseeable future. We are seeking to make a long-term impact on the supply of affordable housing in DuPage County and the lives of Habitat homeowners. The member serving in this role will be part of the AmeriCorps team that will give the necessary boost to significantly increase the number of families our affiliate is able to serve through our Critical Home Repair (CHR), Rehab, and new construction projects. The AmeriCorps members serving in this role, will train and lead volunteers in building homes and providing home repairs to families in need. They will do this hands on each day at the jobsite and by developing a training curriculum including instructional videos for volunteers to use. The secondary goal would be to identify, train and retain additional volunteer crew leaders to serve after their term is over. This would allow future volunteer crew leaders to better engage visiting volunteers.
