Stewards VISTA: Montezuma Land Conservancy
The Montezuma Land Conservancy (MLC) is a leader and innovator in the land trust community throughout Colorado and around the nation. Through 22 years of local land protection efforts MLC has worked to conserve over 46,000 acres of land in southwest Colorado protecting critical farmlands, wildlife habitat, open space, and natural resources. Over the past three years MLC has also expanded its operations to include unique youth education programs based out of its education farm, Fozzie’s Farm. Additionally, MLC assists in leading a diverse 18-member community coalition focused on the critical mission of getting youth outdoors and reconnected to nature. Our organization is comprised of six passionate staff and a dedicated board of directors. We strive to support a safe, fun, inclusive, and dynamic work environment that drives its staff to lead through creativity and action. We believe that land is a powerful canvas by which we can address a multitude of ecological and social issues and seek to leverage our innovation and dynamic partnerships to drive amazing outcomes.
