Strong City/Bmore4Kidz: Young Maker VISTA Coordinator

This position is sponsored by Strong City Baltimore in Baltimore, MD; and the VISTA member will serve with Bmore4Kidz in Baltimore, MD. Strong City sponsors 30 VISTA projects at nonprofit, government, and community organizations throughout Baltimore City and Maryland. Established in 1969 to help neighborhoods become safer, better places to live, Strong City's mission is to build and strengthen neighborhoods and people. Strong City will provide support to Bmore4kidz and the VISTA member throughout the year, including recruitment, training, resources, and professional development opportunities, and meetings.

Member Duties : Bmore4Kidz Young Maker VISTA will increase financial capacity of Bmore4Kidz Young Makers by developing, implementing and engaging the community and community partners to serve and provide Young Makers Programs to diverse, low income 4th-8th Grade and their families in East Baltimore. The VISTA will increase family, community, and volunteer engagement for Bmore4Kidz Young Makers; increase financial capacity and resources for Bmore4Kidz Young Makers through grant-seeking and community outreach events; and develop/support efforts to increase STEAM student success through recruitment and community engagement. As a result there will be an increase in recruiting, retaining and training of mentors, volunteers and community members; a secured financial funding for the Young Makers Program is established and an effective and impactful Young Makers Program is built.
