Hunger Free Vermont is the state’s leading hunger advocacy and education organization and a resource for like-organizations across the nation. Member Duties : The VISTA Team member will receive training and support from a manager and colleagues, and will increase their experience and skills in project management, communication, public speaking, strategic planning, community organizing, facilitation, and public education on nutrition and hunger issues. This position will support community engagement activities for enhancing food security in Vermont through the coordination of the Hunger Councils of VT and other education activities. They will help develop educational materials about the solutions to end hunger. Responsibilities: - Provide backbone support for the Hunger Councils. Work with staff and chairs to develop agendas, set goals, and manage effective community meetings. - Coordinate logistics for meetings and take minutes. - Create sustainable management systems for Hunger Council management and for tracking and advertising community education and engagement workshops and activities. - Develop educational materials.
