Kentucky College Coaches 23-24 College

Kentucky College Coaches are AmeriCorps State service members tasked with acting as a peer, or near-peer, to either high school students, or post-secondary students, to be successful in all aspects of their school career. These priority students will be students who 1) will likely get through high school, but who are unlikely to go to college; 2) who would be first-generation college attendees; and/or 3) who are from low-income families. At the high school level, they are encouraged to think about, apply for and achieve acceptance to college. At the college level, the near-peer mentors will help the students engage in the school environment, experience academic success and graduate with their chosen postsecondary degree or certificate of completion.

Member Duties : The Kentucky College Coach will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to help increase the capacity for institutions to help students persist and graduate through direct mentoring/coaching/tutoring, support of high-impact practices, and/or providing service to others (on- or off-campus community service).
