2018 Summer Food Programming Developer

Respond Now exists to provide immediate relief for residents of the Chicago south suburbs who are in need while maintaining their dignity and affording respect. We do this by: Helping people through their temporary emergencies with financial assistance Providing food to families and individuals in need Providing sound referrals and counseling for other needed services The VISTA will build the case for needed additional service by researching data on hunger and the services provided in the far south suburbs. Provide a 1-2 page report to support the need for additional service. The ideal candidate would have some training or experience in doing research, using research to recommend a plan of action, and assist in implementing the plan. Candidate would be someone who can prepare a report that will be presented to board and staff.

Member Duties : Lead discussion on how the increased services would be implemented (what kind of methods to be used) and what impact the increased services would have on Respond Now in terms of needed volunteers, food and space. The VISTA will quantify and present impact increased services would have on agency Based on previous discoveries on what would be needed to increase food distribution, the VISTA will spend remaining portion of service time planning for those items and putting those items in place (increased volunteers, food, space, etc). This is done in anticipation of increasing food distribution.
