2018 Summer Continuum of Care VISTA
 
 
 
All Chicago Making Homelessness History prevents & ends homelessness through four approaches. Our Emergency Financial Assistance approach provides short-term funding to people experiencing an emergency that could lead to homelessness or other crises. Our Community Partnerships approach provides the backbone of a city-wide response to homelessness by partnering with 44 agencies and leading them through a year-round research, evaluation, strategic planning, and federal funding application process. Our Data Analytics approach collects and analyzes data through the Homeless Management Information System. Our Training & Research approach provides trainings, workshops, research, and analysis to help our partners apply proven strategies more effectively. The Continuum of Care VISTA will work alongside the Director of CoC Programs in developing a mechanism for evaluating consumer engagement, researching best practices and interventions to end youth homelessness and creating quarterly dashboard for CoC funded projects. The result of the project will be improved project performance that will improve system performance.The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who thrives in a team-focused, collaborative environment. The candidate should be strong in public speaking, relationship-building, facilitating meetings and trainings involving stakeholders. The candidate should be interested in best practices, research, and data analysis, and the importance of data-informed decision making. Interest in coordinating change on a system level. The ideal candidate will be solution-focused and re-frames challenges as opportunities. We are looking for someone who is excited about innovative, creative solutions to system-wide issues. Skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Member Duties : The Continuum of Care (CoC) VISTA will meet the following objectives during their service. By August 17th, 2018, the CoC VISTA will enhance evaluation of projects around consumer engagement through the completion of at least 2 consumer engagement sessions. By August 17th, 2018, the CoC VISTA will research evidence based practices and resources on youth housing interventions to include into the Chicago CoC’s plan to end youth homelessness and develop a training curriculum and list of potential trainers. By July 31st, the CoC VISTA will create project level quarterly dashboards for the July CoC funded partner quarterly meetings.
