Hernández After School Development Coordinator

Friends of the Hernández (FOH) supports extracurricular programming and enrichment for K-8 students at the Rafael Hernández School, a dual-Language Spanish/English school in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood. The Development VISTA alongside of the Director, will support the growth and financial sustainability of FOH’s After School Program, helping HASP engage more students and families in out-of-school time programming. The Hernández After School Program (HASP) prides itself in being able to offer high quality, affordable after school programming for Hernández families. HASP offers bilingual homework support, enriching field trips, and daily program offerings ranging from robotics to karate, which promote educational access for predominantly low-income, Latinx students in Boston. The VISTA’s work fostering local business partnerships, supporting community events and fundraisers, and identifying funding opportunities will allow HASP to maintain our low-cost tuition and scholarships, while simultaneously strengthening our program offerings. Additionally, this is a great community to continue to work on expanding your Spanish/English skills.
