The mission of CSC’s Center for STEM Education and Career Development is to inspire more young people to consider and pursue careers in STEM fields by focusing on the following goals: Through the unique capabilities of the Center for STEM Education and Career Development, CSC provides a focused forum for collaboration among key STEM education stakeholders to collectively address STEM education in our region with a multifaceted approach that includes student programming, teacher training, business and industry needs, and government initiatives. Guided by a highly engaged team of partners from our region’s business and academic STEM leaders, the STEM Center uses these collaborations to develop and deliver exceptional STEM programming directly to students, teachers, business leaders, and parents.

Member Duties : The VISTA Outreach Coordinator will assist with building relationships and introducing new partner organizations into the coalition such as schools and other nonprofits to help scale the Mentors in the Making initiative and reach more students. The Outreach Coordinator will also recruit and support mentees, mentors, and educators in the program as well as lead advancement work in the Pittsburgh community, presenting and representing the coalition at local workshops, conferences, and meetings.
