The mission of CSC’s Center for STEM Education and Career Development is to inspire more young people to consider and pursue careers in STEM fields by focusing on the following goals: Through the unique capabilities of the Center for STEM Education and Career Development, CSC provides a focused forum for collaboration among key STEM education stakeholders to collectively address STEM education in our region with a multifaceted approach that includes student programming, teacher training, business and industry needs, and government initiatives. Guided by a highly engaged team of partners from our region’s business and academic STEM leaders, the STEM Center uses these collaborations to develop and deliver exceptional STEM programming directly to students, teachers, business leaders, and parents.

Member Duties : The Development VISTA will work closely with leadership in efforts to scale the Mentors in the Making program beyond the region by developing written and online resources for program design, implementation, and growth. The Development VISTA will research and identify opportunities, new coalitions, and makerspaces for program replication to serve students nationwide. S/he will also assist with recruit and support of mentees, mentors, and educators in the Pittsburgh program.
