Neighborcare Health

Neighborcare Health’s mission is to provide comprehensive health care to families and individuals who have difficulty accessing care, respond with sensitivity to the needs of our culturally diverse patients, and serve to improve the overall health status of the communities we serve. Our ultimate goal is 100% access to health care, and zero disparities in health status across racial, economic, and other socioeconomic groups. Our core values are Social Justice, Cultural Sensitivity, Community and Excellence. We provide a respectful healthcare home to 70,000 patients at our 28 medical, dental and school-based clinics. Services include primary medical care, dental care, school-based health care, behavioral health, social work, pediatric care, immunizations, prescriptions, and chronic disease management. Our patients are diverse, speaking more than 50 languages and dialects. Most are racial or ethnic minorities, and 20% are best served in a language other than English. Almost all are low-income, many are uninsured and underinsured, and of our total patient population, more than 14,000 are, or were recently, homeless. Neighborcare Health helps address the needs of uninsured and underserved King County residents by providing integrated primary health care in a culturally competent manner. Our work extends beyond the walls of the clinic, into the communities we serve. AmeriCorps Member Health Resource Specialists will serve directly with our patients and the greater community to promote awareness of health and health resources for which they are eligible, and link them with care in Neighborcare clinics. All Health Resource Specialist positions are contingent on funding.
