2018 Hesed House Children's Summer Program VISTA

Hesed House's mission is to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless and give people the chance to hope again. Hesed House is a national model for ending homelessness - one person, one family at a time. It is the culmination of nearly three decades of strategic evolution from a formerly acceptable model of "eats and sheets" to a Comprehensive Homeless Resource Center - a campus of centralized highly skilled professionals collaborating to provide the tools necessary to help individuals and families break free of the shackles binding them to homelessness. The VISTA Summer Associate will work with staff to develop and run a summer activities aimed at helping to instill self-worth, confidence, teamwork, socialization skills, empowerment and hope for the children experiencing homelessness at Hesed House. The activities will focus especially on youth that aren’t otherwise served in the community with camps or activities. We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter and team player, capable of running children’s activities with children from vulnerable populations. Previous experience with at-risk children preferred.
