VISTA Catawba Fresh Market Program Development Coordinator
 
 
 
The Catawba Farm and Food Coalition (CFFC) is a non-profit organization devoted to supporting the local food system of a 5 county region in South Carolina. In 2016 CFFC launched the Catawba Fresh Market, a new on-line farmers market that connects consumers and producers. This position will be located in Chester, SC, the center of South Carolina’s Catawba Region. Enjoy living in Chester, South Carolina, a quiet, historic small town community with access to the major metro area amenities of Charlotte, NC (~30 minutes away). VISTA Volunteer will: Interact with area farmers to help them grow their business through participation in the Catawba Fresh Market through education and engagement programs. Strategize with CFFC leadership opportunities for sustainability of the Catawba Fresh Market including fundraising, volunteer recruitment and the development of new community partnerships. Develop new communication and marketing strategies for the Catawba Fresh Market. A successful candidate has the: ability to work well with others and within a team, passion for supporting a local food system, experience with farmers markets and farmer education are a plus, and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic web skills (social media, e-mail, etc.) desired. As a member of our team you will: Learn about food system development from the grassroots level, Make a difference in the lives of participating farmers, Gain skills in non-profit management and sustainability, Network with related organizations and gain new contacts for future growth, and Be a part of a new local food movement!
