M:STL- iFM Communication and Outreach VISTA

IFM Community Medicine lives their mission by taking healthcare services directly to points of need in the community, overcoming access barriers related to cost, transportation, language and trust. Their unique programs and collaborative partnerships with schools, shelters and other social service organizations break down barriers to quality health care by bringing primary/preventative/recovery services to the points of most need in our community. By establishing clinics within the walls of those organizations IFM provides care in a cost-effective way thereby reducing the barriers for those who otherwise would have difficulty in appropriately accessing the traditional health care delivery system. IFM operates 18 clinic sites throughout the St. Louis greater metropolitan area and provides care to over 3000 patients annually. Over 80% of these are children 18 and under. They improve quality of life for those in the most need: underserved children, homeless & runaway teens, low-income families, individuals in recovery, seniors and immigrants & refugees settling in St. Louis.
