2018 Mercy Lakefront Housing Resource Development Associate
 
 
 
Mercy Housing Lakefront (MHL) has been working for 30 years to build a region where everyone has an affordable home to use as a springboard to achieve better health, economic security and a brighter future for their kids. Our mission is to create stable, vibrant and healthy communities by developing and operating affordable, program-enriched housing for families, seniors and people with special needs who lack the economic resources to access quality, safe housing opportunities. Currently, we serve over 8,000 in 52 buildings in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. To expand our new volunteer program and assist with fundraising events that engage individuals, foundations, businesses and faith congregations to provide health, education and economic resources to the families and individuals served by Mercy Housing Lakefront. Therefore, providing additional opportunities to improve the health and economic stability of our residents. We are looking for a candidate at least 18 years of age with High School or GED. You must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident. Some College preferred. Additional qualifications desired are strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, outgoing, creative, interest in marketing, interest in homelessness and housing issues, demonstrated ability to work successfully as part of a team as well as independently, and at least intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Member Duties : 1. Expand marketing of volunteer program and build partnership with community organizations to recruit volunteers by creating a plan for outreach and recruitment of volunteers from churches and research potential adopt-a-building partners. Also, market volunteers program to identified partners through mailings and meetings. 2. Work with staff to create and implement a comprehensive marketing plan for the Moving Forward, Together, Live in Hope and other fundraising events by researching best practices of in marketing for well attended fundraising events. Also, based on findings, develop a comprehensive marketing plan that uses current marketing materials as well as develop additional strategies that will boost attendance.
