NYC VISTA- Capacity Building VISTA DOE
 
 
 
This VISTA will create a rubric to identify a subset of schools for a culminating video project documentary. After selecting 5-7 participating schools, they will manage the video submissions and compile community-based resources to share with lead community based partners and Community School Directors to guide their work at schools. The VISTA will conduct visits pre and post filming and document challenges and best practices and provide coaching and technical assistance to schools. Finally, the VISTA will build an interactive virtual community to drive Community School Directors to resources sharing and best practices.

Member Duties : •Develop and implement video project based on; community building projects such as but not limited to coat drives, book drives, volunteer days, contests, student conference. •Develop tool to distribute video resources to the broader 227 schools. •Develop collection tool and submission system •Present gathered information in newsletters, bulletin or other formats to communicate to CBOs. •Attend and participate in regular school visits with key stakeholders. •Coordinate logistics for filming •Help create systems to track meetings, notes and items for follow up. •Develop post- video survey to assess content and feedback •Work with DOE Capacity Building Team, Program Managers and other members to troubleshoot any challenges schools and/or CBOs may be facing and work towards sustainable solutions. •Develop a content expertise to support school level staff in the development of their community school, by providing resources and best practices.
