NYC VISTA-Capacity Building VISTA
 
 
 
NYC Service’s volunteer capacity building programming supports hundreds of nonprofits across the City with resources, toolkits, and trainings that position them to more effectively recruit, manage, and recognize volunteers, as well as strategically engage them at all levels of their organization to more effectively do their work and achieve their mission. The Capacity Building VISTA will support nonprofit and community-based organizations in NYC to increase their ability to provide critical services to New Yorkers, including housing, youth development services, etc., through volunteer capacity building programming. This position is ideal for individuals who want to expand their knowledge of the nonprofit sector in NYC and gain experience engaging with nonprofit sector professionals.

Member Duties : •Create new and expanding partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders on volunteer capacity building oGrow number of GoPass Program CBO Users & screened volunteers; Conduct outreach to organizations & secure opportunities for NYC Service to present/share tools and trainings with new nonprofits; Plan & coordinate volunteer management trainings •Manage organizations in volunteer capacity building programming to ensure consistent & active participation oCommunication with GoPass CBO Users and elevated engagement; Track organization progress & feedback; Manage NYC Service’s Strategic Volunteer Planning-Service Enterprise cohort of organizations, including planning & coordination of orientation, diagnostic administration, training, & coaching •Measure feedback from participating organizations to improve capacity building program models. oAnalyze collected data from nonprofits & develop report with recommendations for program improvements
