The Campus Compact of Northern New England VISTA Program is focused on the development of programming on campuses across New Hampshire that will increase access to higher education for low income individuals by providing programming focused on improving college aspirations, increasing the belief that college is an option, and increasing access to higher education for low income individuals seeking higher education. Campus Compact of NH is currently recruiting for a team of 10 VISTAs to serve at host sites across the state to achieve these goals.

Member Duties : It is the goal of the AmeriCorps VISTA placed at White Mountains Community College, in Berlin, NH to utilize campus resources to increase the accessibility to higher education and retention of low income students in the greater North Country region. The VISTA will have a variety of opportunities, which include, but are not limited to, working with student leaders to streamline the enrollment process for low income K-12 students and first generation college students, recruiting student volunteers for various service programs in the region, and encouraging student involvement in service and leadership events and student organizations in order to promote college retention. GEAR UP is designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary education. The VISTA will work specifically with Berlin School District, White Mountains School District, Lisbon School District, and Stewartstown School District.
