African Community Center Nonprofit Management VISTA

ECDC African Community Center (ACC) is a community-based organization whose mission is to help newcomers to the United States rebuild safe, sustainable lives in Denver after fleeing war and persecution. Founded in 2001, ACC provides comprehensive services to over 1300 newcomers per year. Through your work at ACC, you will be part of an organization that transforms the lives of at-risk populations when they are at their most vulnerable. ACC’s location in the booming Denver metro area will give you access to all that the region has to offer, from a multitude of outdoor recreation opportunities to exciting cultural events and festivals. Whether you prefer to spend your weekends rock climbing, relaxing at parks, snowboarding, walking miles of city trails, visiting museums, attending festivals, or watching professional sporting events or Broadway shows, Denver has what you’re looking for. As our VISTA, you will help us strengthen our capacity by creating and implementing organizational processes and procedures. You will help us become more efficient, ultimately allowing us to better serve our community. You will have the opportunity to work with the Managing Director, Management Team, Grants and Programs Manager, and many other staff across all departments. This is a fantastic opportunity to hone organizational and systems management skills and offers the chance to produce tangible and meaningful work. For someone thinking about a career in nonprofit management, this position will provide you with hard and transferable skills to do so. We are looking for someone who is flexible, motivated, organized, able to demonstrate cross-cultural sensitivity, tech-savvy and excellent in written and verbal communication. Bonus points for experience working with volunteers or at-risk populations and competence in a language other than English! Sound like you? Visit our website or reach out to Chelsea for more information (303-399-4500 x366 or chelsea@acc-den.org).
