SerVermont - Farm to Family Program

The Department for Children and Families (DCF), Economic Services Division (ESD) administers the Farm to Family (F2F) program. DCF, as part of an integrated Agency of Human Services, fosters the healthy development, safety, well-being, and self-sufficiency of Vermonters. We are passionate about prevention and will: reduce poverty and homelessness; improve the safety and well-being of children and families; create permanent connections for children and youth; and provide timely and accurate financial supports for children, individuals and families. F2F helps people buy locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farmers’ markets. Recipients receive nutritional education. The program expands awareness and use of benefits at farmers’ markets. F2F is made up of several state and federal programs including, Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), Senior Famers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), State Farm to Family Program and Ladies First. The population served by the FMNP include pregnant women, breastfeeding women, post-partum women, infants over 6 months old and children up to age five. SFMNP serves low-income seniors age 60 and over. The State F2F program serves low-income Vermonters of any age. The Ladies first serves low-income women age 21 and over.
