2018-2019 Outreach and Engagement Coach VISTA
Center for Changing Lives (CCL) is a non-profit Financial Opportunity Center that partners with those held back by a lack of resource and economic opport¬¬unity in order to uncover possibilities, overcome barriers, and realize their potential. CCL offers free one-on-one financial, employment, and resource development coaching to individuals and families, as well as community workshops and group coaching classes. CCL believes that every person is the expert of his, her, and their own lives and coaches partner with people to achieve goals using his/her/their strengths and values. Working within CCL’s broader programming, CCL’s VISTA will lead the organization’s outreach and engagement work. They will connect with partner organizations and shelter providers, engage financial coaching and workshop attendees as well as new potential members in CCL services, create and maintain CCL’s program marketing material and communications presence, and work with CCL staff to connect partners, CCL members, and community members to CCL’s wraparound, integrated services and events. This is an interactive and independent position. Candidates should expect to work with teams and their supervisor on specific projects and tasks, enter data into CCL’s data collection system, connect with shelters and interim housing providers, and attend resource fairs and tabling events. Additionally, this VISTA will maintain the communications and outreach systems currently in place. Candidates best suited for this position will be bilingual in Spanish and English and be interested in building social equity through economic opportunity and access to all. This person should be able to prioritize and organize multiple ongoing engagement strategies and project and have excellent communications skills, feel comfortable using social media, creating flyers, and regularly engaging with people from various racial, socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.

Member Duties : 1. Serve as program liaison to Chicago-area Continuum of Care organizations that serve individuals who are homeless by attending meetings and providing ongoing co-located services to engage members from shelters and interim housing 2. Maintain and evaluate shelter-based referral system using CCL’s existing networks that includes communication with service providers and CCL coaches as needed. 3. Design and conduct outreach and recruitment activities, including community workshops, partner meetings and member orientations to connect community residents with CCL’s services. 4. Create outreach materials including flyers and social media posts that engage the wider community. 5. Outreach and co-organization of CCL’s twelve Financial Clubs, one per month, and CCL’s four Pre-Purchase Classes, one per quarter. 6. Outreach, Assessment, and Onboarding for members interested in entering into CCL’s Business Support Services Program
