2018-2019 Special Projects Associate VISTA

The Alliance is working to end homelessness in suburban Cook County. It is an exciting time to join the Alliance! We are in the midst of creating a new strategic plan to end homelessness in our community, and are close to ending homelessness among veterans. A VISTA will be able to lead and support multiple projects. To track our progress towards ending homelessness, the Alliance leads an annual Point-in-Time Count to identify how many people are homeless in our community on a given night. It will be the VISTA's responsibility to lead the execution and organization of the Point-in-Time Count. In addition, the VISTA will aid in the Alliance’s resource development work through communications and researching and writing grants. The VISTA is a vital member of our team. You will have the opportunity to engage leaders in the nonprofit community, participate in community-wide initiatives, attend various training, and learn more about the homeless services sector. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about ending homelessness and eager to learn and contribute to reach this goal. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, is a skilled writer and communicator, and works well independently or with a team. Direct volunteer recruitment, committee involvement, or resource development experience is not a requirement but is preferred.
