Public & School Partnership - Utah Assistive Tech Program
The Utah Assistive Technology Program (UATP) is a federally-funded program serving individuals with disabilities of all ages throughout the state of Utah. Their goal is to provide assistive technology devices and services as well as train university students, parents, children with disabilities and professional service providers about assistive technology. They coordinate their services with community organizations and others who provide independence-related supports to individuals with disabilities. The primary goal of this position is to increase outreach to underserved populations so they can learn about and access needed services.

Member Duties : Specific responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to: 1. Conducting more effective outreach to underserved populations by conducting needs assessments and gaining information about Latino, Muslim, Native American, Asian, African American and other underserved populations along the Wasatch Front by attending in-person, phone, and web meetings; creating and distributing flyers, letters and other promotional materials in English and Spanish to educate community on UATP services and equipment options; and translating project information and documenting important information during focus groups. 2. To ensure sustainability of UATP by maintaining UATP database by entering data about equipment and services provided into database for Logan and Roosevelt locations; corresponding with UATP staff to obtain data on equipment and services; and sharing data findings with UATP staff and, when appropriate, UATP clients.
