Workforce Development Inc. Re-Entry Coordinator VISTA-EMERGE
 
 
 
Join a dedicated team of passionate professionals assisting individuals in becoming self-sufficient! Workforce Development, Inc. serves individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds, helping them into successful careers through employment and training services. We serve a 10-county area in Southeast Minnesota and over 5,000 job seekers per year. A growing number of job seekers have criminal backgrounds and have specific barriers to employment. Our Re-Entry programming serves individuals who were previously incarcerated and assists them in gaining the confidence, skills, and knowledge to move forward in an in-demand, rewarding, and high-paying career. Through Career Pathways programming, we also encourage individuals to gain necessary skills through a variety of training opportunities. This program offers an opportunity to expand our Career Pathways and Re-Entry programming throughout our region through developing partnerships, training for employers, staff members, and community organizations, and capacity building through grant writing and collaborations. Member Duties : Workforce Development Inc. (WDI) is seeking a passionate individual that will work with previously incarcerated individuals and build programming models and Career Pathways programming that will assist them in gaining self-sufficiency and career success. This position will expand from our Year 1 position and would explore current programming and services for previously incarcerated individuals across the region and connect with organizations serving this population, including community-based nonprofit organizations, county programs, local jails and correctional facilities, and local colleges and universities. The goals of this position are to assess the needs of our region and to develop and identify best practices in programming, resources to support and sustain services, and collaborative partnerships to build comprehensive and successful Re-Entry Employment and Career Pathways programming for our region. **Having reliable transportation is essential for this position.
