Through their service at sites in the Greater Portland area, MFS AmeriCorps Members support the agency's three critical community initiatives: 1. Strengthening early childhood development and building youth success through collaboration and innovation…so that every child gets a good start in life and has the opportunity to grow into healthy, educated, productive, and engaged members of our community. 2. Developing and promoting effective approaches to community-based health and wellness throughout the lifespan …so that people are equipped to play an active role in their well-being and societal costs for healthcare can be reduced. 3. Advancing individual and family economic well-being…so that people in our community can live with dignity, security and purpose.

Member Duties : The Intergenerational Engagement member will: Recruit and support volunteers for MFS programs that focus on intergenerational connection and support for older adults and people with disabilities; Develop and coordinate health and wellness focused community events and classes for older adults, people experiencing disabilities, and families/caregivers; Develop and support health and wellness focused family engagement opportunities at Community School based programs; and Lead & support site-specific projects and activities. The position is located in Portland, Oregon.
