Through their service at sites in the Greater Portland area, MFS AmeriCorps Members support the agency's three critical community initiatives: 1. Strengthening early childhood development and building youth success through collaboration and innovation…so that every child gets a good start in life and has the opportunity to grow into healthy, educated, productive, and engaged members of our community. 2. Developing and promoting effective approaches to community-based health and wellness throughout the lifespan …so that people are equipped to play an active role in their well-being and societal costs for healthcare can be reduced. 3. Advancing individual and family economic well-being…so that people in our community can live with dignity, security and purpose.

Member Duties : To learn more about our positions and application process please visit our recruitment website at https://sites.google.com/site/metfamilyamericorps/. Community Schools sites are located in East Multnomah County and greater Portland area. Community School Members: Develop and Teach life skills and social-emotional focused student groups. Coordinate health and wellness focused family events and workshops. Recruit and Coordinate family and community volunteers. Lead & Support site-specific projects and activities.
